If Newton's method is used to nd a solution of an equation on a Ba-nach space, and the Fr echet-derivative is singular at the solution, the convergence of Newton iterates to the solution is linear rather than quadratic. In this study we employ the inexact Newton method to restore quadratic convergence, especially in cases when Newton's or the corrected Newton's method cannot achieve this or cannot even be used.

Stefan problem with kinetics is reduced to a system of nonlinear Volterra integral equations of second kind and Newton's method is applied to linearize it. Product integration solution of the linear form is found and sufficient conditions for convergence of the numerical method are given.
